Wake Forest North Carolina

Wake Forest may seem like a sleepy small town in North Carolina, but you'll see that there's a lot on offer. Named as one of the 10 most beautiful cities in the United States, it is home to Wake Technical Community College and was the original home of Wake Forest University for 122 years. That university is now located in Winston-Salem.

The Wake Forest city center consists of a large collection of art galleries, museums, restaurants, hotels, and more. The city is full of great new buildings and residential neighborhoods. Wake Forest is also home to a number of charter schools, including Wake Forest Montessori and Montessori Children's House of Wake Forest.

The Falls Lake State Recreation Area is a great place to visit and offers hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, and camping. With over 12,000 acres of land and trails, you will surely discover some waterfalls, a lake, and so much more. The Falls & Lake recreation area offers a variety of activities, including canoeing, swimming, boating, and fishing, and it also features an illuminated tennis court, picnic areas, a water park, as well as a playground.

The Wake Forest Parks & Recreation Department manages more than 1,000 acres of parks, trails, and recreational facilities. With a wide range of activities, from hiking and cycling to camping and fishing, it's easy to find a retreat in Wake Forest for a great time with friends and family.

Wake Forest is also a good choice for travelers, and it is just a short drive from Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

The city is served by nine public schools run by the Wake County Public School System. Durham is located just west of Wake Forest and can be reached in 25 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic. The Triangle Transit Authority operates buses serving the region, connecting Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Cary, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, as well as Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

A popular seafood restaurant in Wake Forest is Shuckers Grill & Oyster Bar — a favorite of many locals. Shuckers has been a staple of Wake Forest for some time and a fan favorite of many of the local people who live in the area. In addition to the great craft beer, the downtown location also serves up some tasty food.

The innovative White Street Brewing brings together craft beer lovers from around the world, while Wake Forest Coffee Company offers different brews that are just as delicious. There's also a popular dining spot called Farm Table. What makes Farm Table such a popular destination in the city center is that it serves dishes inspired by the local food scene, such as Mexican enchiladas and Asian sticky glazed ribs.

You will probably spend a lot of time at Wake Forest events, whether you are just going downtown for a day of shopping or just out shopping. The craft beer scene is also popular in North Carolina, and Wake Forest has several breweries.
